Performance
Powering the 2025 Tahoe are three engine options, each attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Coming standard is a 5.3-liter V8 with 355 horsepower. While the RST, Z71, and Premier, and High Country have a 6.2-liter 420 hp V8 as standard or an available option. There's also an optional turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder 277 hp diesel engine available on every Tahoe trim except the Z71.
As for its fuel economy, EPA estimated the diesel engine is the most fuel-efficient model with 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. Though with the 5.3-liter V-8 and optional 6.2-liter V-8, the city mpg dips, and the highway is estimated at 20 mpg.
Design
There isn't much to say about the exterior of the Tahoe as it looks like your typical three-row SUV. But there's much to say about the interior. When sitting in the cabin, Wake Forest drivers will find a spacious interior, second-row seats that slide front to back to provide flexibility, and a massive cargo area with 123 cubic feet of space when the back rows are folded.
Technology
Every Tahoe model has a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A six-speaker stereo comes standard, too, but this can be upgraded to a nine-speaker Bose audio system in any trim but the base model. For added entertainment, there are also two 12.6-inch displays behind the front seats.
Safety
As you travel the streets of Garner, NC, the Tahoe will keep you safe with high-tech advanced driver-aids and a plethora of standard safety features. Standard features include forward-collision warning, automated emergency braking, and lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist. In trims like the Premier and High Country, features like GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving feature are available.
Trims
The Chevy Tahoe is offered in six trim levels:
LS: As the base model, the LS has 18-inch wheels and offers seating for eight. Its features include an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, front and second-row USB ports, automatic windshield wipers, and forward collision mitigation.
LT: The LT adds to the LS list of features with amenities such as a hands-free liftgate, 10.2-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system.
RST: All the same features of the LT are offered in the RST. But the RST adds 22-inch wheels, a unique grille with black exterior trim, and special RST seats with contrasting stitching.
Z71: The Z71 builds off the LT trim with extra off-road capability. Its features include 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a unique front fascia improving the Tahoe's approach angle, hill descent control, and front skid plates.
Premier: The Premier takes all the standard features in the LS and upgrades them. Available features for the Premier include heated and auto-dimming outside mirrors, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, heated front and second-row seats, plus a blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert.
High Country: The High Country offers the most power and exclusive features. The High Country is the only model with 22-inch wheels, a unique grille with bronze accents, a surround-view parking camera system, and a head-up display.
